Cyprus’s Growing Tech Ecosystem: Why Limassol Stands Out
Cyprus is attracting an international community of founders, technology companies and skilled professionals. For those considering relocating, this growing ecosystem adds another reason to explore life on the island: the opportunity to build a career and a home in a connected business environment.
Limassol is a key part of that story, combining an international professional community with coastal city living.
The Numbers Behind the Growth
Cyprus’s technology sector has expanded significantly over the past decade. According to Invest Cyprus, the information and communication technology sector contributed €2.33 billion in gross value added in 2022, an increase of 277% compared with a decade earlier.
Investment has continued to strengthen the sector. Invest Cyprus reported approximately €2.6 billion in ICT investment inflows in 2024, demonstrating the scale of international interest.
The startup community is growing too. The government’s announcement of the 2025 StartupBlink results highlighted a 71% increase in the number of startups compared with 2024, with Cyprus reaching 40th place globally.
Together, these figures show an island developing a broader identity as a place for innovation and entrepreneurship.
An International Business Community
Gaming is one visible part of this ecosystem. Wargaming has an office in Nicosia, while MY.GAMES has established an office in Limassol—examples of the international companies building a presence in Cyprus.
For professionals moving to the island, an established business community can make it easier to form connections and settle into a new working environment.
What This Means When Choosing a Home
For relocating founders and technology professionals, a property needs to work around everyday life.
An apartment close to the office may suit someone moving alone. A family may prioritise school access, additional bedrooms and outdoor space. Those working remotely may need a dedicated workspace and a neighbourhood where daily essentials are nearby.
Limassol offers the opportunity to combine a professional base with life by the sea. The right home brings those priorities together.
